Sinopse

Numa noite, os irmãos de criação Issamu Minami (Kotaro Minami no original) e Nobuhiko Aikizuki comemoram o aniversário de 19 anos de ambos, rodeados por convidados influentes: políticos, artistas, etc. De repente, uma nuvem de gafanhotos surge do nada atacando a todos, mas estranhamente ninguém, exceto os irmãos aniversariantes, se abala com isso.

Era o primeiro sinal do que estaria por vir. Os irmão são transportados subitamente para a base secreta dos Gorgom, uma organização temível que deseja dominar o mundo enganando os humanos. Daí se explica: Aqueles convidados foram indiferentes aos gafanhotos, que passeavam sobre seus corpos na festa, justamente por serem adeptos dos Gorgom, e ainda estavam cientes de tudo o que viria pela frente. Issamu e Nobuhiko foram escolhidos porque nasceram no mesmo segundo em que se completava um eclipse total do sol.

Deste modo, passam por uma operação mutante, para adquirirem poderes e transformarem-se em homens-gafanhoto, ou como é citado na série, nos dois Imperadores Seculares
